KIDS GLASSES

KIDS NEED

Now that your child needs glases, how can you help care for them?

Consumers know little about eyewear other than that they come in many styles. Lenses are a mystery. Consumers are not sure what they should cost. B1 New Vision can help! We will help you to understand what to expect from glasses. We will explain what qualities to look for in frames, lens material and lens design. We will take the time to talk about the difference among the lenses that come out of our practice to give you the power to make decision that is based on more than just price.

We have to explain 3 important elements: safety, clarity and comfort.

Safety: This means protection from impact, scratches and ultraviolet radiation. Lens finishing requires that the lens be help firmly in a child's frame.

Clarity: Lens design and anti-reflect coatings also contribute to clear edge – to – edge vision.

Comfort: This comes from a combination of the frame and the lens. The bridge of the frame must watch the shape of the child's nose bridge. We suggest silicone nose pads to prevent digging into the skin. Lens comfort depends on weight (index and lens size) and thickness.

For children who play sports, wearing their glasses will protect their vision and improve their performance.

The glasses will also help them to focus and learn more at school.

Children must be careful. Taking glasses off or getting them scratched or dirty obstructs good vision. If children can't see well through their glasses, that does not mean the glasses are not working. Keeping the glasses in a soft case at the bottom of backpack may cause the frames to fall out of adjustment and make wearing them less comfortable. If your child has dropped, mishandled or improperly cleaned his or her eyeglasses or didn't use a case, don't worry! B1 New Vision offers a 2-year warranty.
